Free Weekly Fingerstyle Lessons – Lesson 7 – The Tradition Stylistic Studies 1

Free Fingerstyle Guitar Lessons are back! After a house move and some recording work I’ve finally got time to create some new lessons for you guys! The next few lessons are designed to develop the techniques you need for playing pieces from my book/CD ‘The Tradition’.

First up – these picking exercises will help you when working on pieces like ‘Nothing Will Sadden Us’ and ‘The Mason’s Apron.’

Many more to come which will focus on other arrangements/techniques!

In this lesson we are looking at gospel style turnarounds with moving basslines. A bit more sophisticated than standard blues turnarounds, these contain quite a bit of movement so try my suggested fretting and picking hand fingerings. More next week!
